Daily Outfit

Jacket - Vintage 'Crimpelene', Belt - vintage Ebay, Skirt - SES, Seamed Stockings - Voodoo, Shoes - Parker Roche, Lipstick - Moulin Rouge Red by Boots No.7.

It was out with the glad rags today for the very special occasion of meeting with Imelda Matt and Fashion Hayley. Even though today is Friday the 13th, we tempted fate and aside from the wild, wet and windy weather, had a simply wonderful time. The last time I met any internet buddies in real life, I was about 15. His name was "Phoenix" and we met on a BBS, (some of you may remember these - and that right there is a clue to my age).

While I would have loved to shop for something especially for the day, my schedule didn't allow it this week. I put todays outfit together from various vintage pieces and a pair of my favorite shoes. Although they are some of my favorites, I have to admit that they don't get a lot of wear because with white heels, I am afraid of scuffing them. The jacket was a fabulous Op shop / Thrift store find many years ago. All of $10! But it is a little big, hence the belt. The belt isn't quite what I had in mind for it, but I think it worked okay nonetheless. I really have to get my hands on some more basic waist cincher belts. I always go out to buy one and then come home with the highly embellished super fancy kind.

But my weekend beckons, and with it, the promise of ballet lessons, sewing a dozen fairy / ballerina T-shirts for Miss 3's birthday party next weekend, and completing a few surprises I have promised other bloggers. Hope you all have something a little fancy planned for your weekend, and if not, at least bake yourself a cupcake or two and eat them all!

Look at you all! Just gorgeous people! How fun to meet bloggers in real life.
A lifestyle question for you: do you have a nanny or nursery for your little ones? It's hard for me to "get out" except on weekends because I have the care of the children. No complaints--I love them dearly, but no grownup lunches during the week here. Just wondering how you fit it all in!

You are so gorgeous its ridiculous! I loooove your style.. and your hair.. ughh.. If only I could get my hair like that... I afraid its too long and wont curl that great. Ill have to try and let you see :D

Your earrings are great also! I want seemed stocking LOL. I read that people would draw the seems with eyeliner or get the tattooed on.. that would be a huge pain!

Glad your Friday the 13th was a good one.. Mines just starting so we'll see!!!

XOXOXO Take Care!!!

Imelda: Nothing escapes you does it. ;)
Amy: I am currently interviewing for a Nanny but you must work for free. ;) Seriously though, No Nanny, My 3 year old has kinder two days a week, and I try to arrange my meetings around my Mothers work schedule so that she is able to have the baby for a few hours. Otherwise, if I want to go out, I just take the baby with me and pick a day that Miss 3 is at kinder. It is easy to do lunches when your baby is still happy in a pram. Mind you, it does take almost military style strategic planning, but it is worth it.
Tizz and Wendy: Thank you. A great time was had by all.
Mrs Fox: They really are wonderful, and beautifully made too, so with there classic styling I should have them for many years to come.
Jennifer: Actually my hair is quite long. Past the middle of my back in fact. It is all in the technique. I am trying to learn how to use the video software on my PC then I'll get a detailed How To hair post up. The earrings are a lovely diamond and platinum pair I received as a gift some years ago. As for the seams, I think I would go with drawing them on with eyeliner that way they would always stay straight too.
Nadine: Thank you. The blazer is one of my favorites. It's a pity it's a bit big. I thought about having it tailored to fit, but with that pattern and being vintage it's a bit risky.

Oooooooooooooooohhhhhh, your outfit! It's black and white! Your shoes are two tone!
I've scrapped my plans for the weekend, I'm now shopping for what to wear to our tea date.
And maybe making cupcakes as suggested, and eating them all. Actually if I do that I won't fit into my new dress so scrap that, I'll just handle the shopping part.

Freelancer: Thank you, I was quite happy with the way my hair turned out. Sometimes it just doesn't happen, but at least today it performed on cue.
Annabannana: That belt has been a lifesaver many a time.
Lady Melbourne: That sounds like you have a wonderful weekend planned! I'm hoping to find some shopping time too now that I have a good excuse.
k.Line: We did mention your invitation for drinks out the back should we ever get over there.
enc: Thanks!
Lil Puch: Thank you. I am rather in love with my chair too. Buying birthday presents for yourself is the best idea. :)
