Inspired by a Different Kind of Nana.

I thought I'd give you a look at another one of my diverse sources of inspiration today. I love to browse fashion magazines in the stores, although I don't often buy them. I generally find that once it has hit the glossies, I've already been following the trend online for a few months or more. So I look more towards those magazine that are not aimed at my demographic and not even in my language. One of the favorites I discovered a while back is NANA magazine. I think it must be aimed at 14 year old girls, but it is just so cute! I don't take any of these styles literally for me, but that is what inspiration is all about. Taking the elements of something that appeals to you and making it your own. Here is a sneak peek at the pages of one of my favorite editions of NANA from a few years back.

I haven't been able to find NANA on the shelves recently, so if you have any suggestions for other publications you think I just couldn't possibly live without, by all means recommend away. And now I'm heading off to plan my outfit for an evening of Karaoke. Yippee!

I can barely find any Japanese magazines anymore but I do vaguely remember Nana as being one of the better ones...

Wow, the model in the last photo looks very anglo?
I love the commitment of japanese girls to fashion. They really take it all the way.

You've got to hand it to the Japanese. They take everything in fashion to another level! I think their adventurous nature when it comes to fashion is admirable :)
