Outfit Details: T-Shirt - Free Fusion from Target ( tween wear), Black peddle pushers - Sussan Grae, Black Ballet flats - Payless Shoes, Sunglasses - Fendi, Earrings - Diva
It has been the most stunning spring weekend here, so I give you a glimpse of both my at home, barbecue wear and my garden. The T-shirt I found a while ago at Target and just loved both the print and the neckline. It's been hiding in the cupboard waiting for its debut. I've also been searching for the perfect pair of peddle pushers to knock about in. I find them a very hard item to wear as they can come off rather suburban if not worn correctly. I'd almost given up on finding a pair of the correct length with a tapered leg, and so I decided to search the stores whose thresholds I don't usually cross. And of course I found the perfect pair at Sussan Grae ( a very mediocre, suburban Nana brand) for $29.95. I'm not a slave to labels, I'll buy according to quality or the perfect style, no matter if it is made for the children's section or a fashionably cringe worthy store. Even these ballet flats were a steal. I bought them in a hurry at Payless Shoes when I was pregnant and out shopping, no longer able to stand the four inch heels I had worn out. And they are still going strong on an investment of a whole $19, and constant wear.
The garden is looking so amazing at the moment, that is if you look up. Look down and you see all the post winter weeding to be done. The Mr has put in many hours on that job this weekend, but it is a never ending task. But it is indeed a fabulous place. Look closely and you may even see how we entertained ourselves before all the lunch and champagne. And all that champagne was why you didn't get these pictures yesterday!

Susan Grae?!Wow, I might have to hot foot it down there, I've been looking for those exact pair for ages.
I was in the childrens wear shop 'Seed' last week looking for a present and I ended up buying hairbands and accessories for myself. Funny where we find our clothes from!

Oh, what beautiful pics! Hasn't the weekend weather been wonderful?! I'm glad you got to enjoy it. I love the teeshirt, it's so cute!
And today I thrifted a Suzanne Grae red and white stripy top – exactly what I was looking for to recreate a '40s-esque beach-esque look. Sometimes things come from the most unlikely places. :)
You look very sweet and casual. The top is very sweet; I love anything nautical-themed. Looks like a beautiful day, I look out of my window here in central England and see grey clouds and fallen leaves!
There's nothing like a perfect spring day. So beautiful and energizing. I'm going to spend my day weeding out a garden that has seen its season - a totally different experience, but nice in its own way.
And 1 is so adorable. I'd love to see a little portrait of your two girls.
I love the shirt :).
You look gorgeous. Great outfit.
You look lovely and the garden looks gorgeous too. Lovely too see the spring sunshine too (sigh), autumn is truly starting to bite in the mornings and evenings here.
Ah it is getting all wintery here so am very envious of your lovely spring day! Love the tee x
LM: It certainly pays to shops with eyes wide open, as we often find things in the most unexpected places. I'm often pinching Miss four's hair accessories too.
Esme: I'm hoping to to the same this summer with high waisted button up shorts.
indie-queen: I love nautical too, but it has to be done a bit tongue in cheek for me, not the same old same old, like we see in so many editorials come summer.
k.line: I love that end of season pruning (so cathartic chopping things up). And 1 is a gorgeous little dolly. When I can get Miss four to pose with her tongue in we might get a portrait!
Nadine: Yep, shopping the kids sections is great. I know you're a fan of that too.
Tonya: Thank you. :)
Floraposte: It feels like this spring has been a long time coming. Especially while we here watch all the lovely blogs in the midst of summer.
Make do and mend: Just think of the hot chocolates and the need for cashmere. I love the beginning of winter too.
I like to buy kid;s wear too. Monsoon kids and H & M size 13-14 fit me easily are usually the right length, And no one recognizes the clothes in the wrong context!
That sky photograph looks like water. Very arty and breezily Melbourne. You can't be too far from your cardi yet!
xx
What an adorable top!
the sailor girl on your tee is so cute!! " peddle pushers can look very suburban" = true true.
Hammie: No it is still a bit nippy here. I find it hard to plan for traveling to different weather when I'm not feeling it. And yes, the sky has been amazing. I love the colours of this country.
Wendy B: Super Kawaii!
A Dreamer: Yeah, she sold me.
Oh wow, that shirt! I want it!
You look extremely cute (in an elegant sort of way) as does that little person just disappearing out of shot!
The little Miss looks so cute zooming through your lead shot. The yard looks stunning and lush, I bet it didn't look like this time last year.
That top is to die for!
sadly i tried that little tee quite a while ago. i spotted it and with my love of the nautical fell in love with it. unfortunately, upon putting it on it just did not go, it looked ok but not fantastic so i had to leave it behind. glad to see it look so lovely on someone else!!!!
