How Far Will a Girl Walk For Shoes?

After seeing these objects of divinity over at The Freelancers, I cannot get them out of my mind. What is it about the Finnish and their amazing sense of design? So I have been searching, and Googling, and emailing, but alas I cannot find these sublime treasures anywhere on our fine shores. (Imelda, I commission you to remedy this dreadful oversight).I couldn't possibly make a decision on one pair on the internet either and just have them shipped here. I want to see them, touch them, prance around the shop floor in them. And I may have the answer. After trawling the Minna Parikka official site (and giving myself palpitations), I discovered that they have one stockist boutique in Tokyo. So I may yet get my wish. Given that I have a few shopping days planned in Tokyo next month, these have made it onto my Must See list. I may yet get my wish!

you may want to check those online-stores:

http://www.cocoviolet.com (I know they post within europe, but I'm not sure about worlwide)

http://www.tattydevine.com/boutique/faq.php
they have a large range of minna parikkas, but another blogger, ranna from "only shallow" had some problems with them.

good luck!

I love the first ones - the simplicity of the design is perfect, very scandinavian but a little bit sexy too!

I don't see how you could possibly live without those, SKM. I think they're so dreamy, you are destined to own them.

All the designs you showed are perfect. I hope you find some. Fingers crossed.

Have been doing some mad sleuthing. If you're a size 8 and covet the red ones on top, they're available at Plum and Pear boutique (in NYC) online on a modest sale . . .

Super mama, I got some lovely sixties pumps in a Vintage shop yesterday here in Dublin; and I can't wait to show you. Very ladylike patent leather, handmade in Italy and only €38 which is a bargain in this millenium.
I also passed on an award to you, if you want to pick it up from my blog.
xx

Froken Lila: Thank you. I've been to Coco Violet, they have some great pieces there too.
Wendy B: I think they are my favorites too. They could do a great flapper girl look.
Tizz & Tokyo Bunnie: Kawaii Neh?!
Skye: And they are lizard skin!
enc: I agree, they appear to be shoes of destiny.
Hammie: Neither can I. I believe they might set me back a bit, so I'll have to look for a cheaper hotel in Japan in case i have to have two pairs!
Susie Bubble: Oh I think I could spend and entire day and probably an entire weeks wage in there.
Miss Cavendish: Thank you. I went straight over and checked them out, but sadly they are one size too small for me. I'm a 39. :(
Old Flowers: Thank you :)
Hammie: Oh I can't wait to see them! Finding vintage shoes here is a big ask. There don't seem to be many around and what there is is fairly questionable in repair. I do remember picking up a few killer pairs when I was about 13. I wonder what happened to them all?
