Flowers and Beehives - How to do Amy Winehouse Hair

As promised, here is the follow up to the last hair tutorial. A 1960's style, Amy Winehouse Beehive do, just for you. This is a little more complex than the last few, but great fun and may just provide you with the inspiration you have been looking for for Halloween. So have fun, it's a giggle.

I love this! I'm a big beehive admirer.

Now THAT is cute! And what a good idea to create your own hairpiece with the bath pouf. When I was a little girl, my brother and I found a box of my mother's old "rats" and thought they were hilarious! (rats = hair forms to go under buns, beehives, etc for those 60s looks) Now I wish I'd kept an eye on them...we have the same haircolor.

Wow, you are one clever clogs missus! I have to confess that the Amy look gets me a little nauseaous. But your smooth version of the do is gorgeous. Very glam goth, reminds me of that nighttime t.v presenter...Elvira! that's it xx

That is insanely cool, super mama. I'd wear that everyday if I had long hair! You have THE best tutorials.

That shower flower trick was very clever, indeed! Much more chic than Amy Winehouse's rat's nest :) I tried out your other tutorial, and that was definitely a success. Well, except that I need more pins, and I don't have bangs like yours, but still worked well.

This was an excellent tutorial. I will definitely try this out. Do you find it's heavy to have on?

I could listen to you
say "bobby pins" all day! I just love your accent! I wish I could imitate it, but it always comes out Southern. Anyway, stupid American comments aside, that was fascinating! Always wondered how they did it. My hair is too short, but I will keep in the style side of my brain for future reference!!

yeah, I like your accent too Super K Mama. Reminds me of home. Very cultured Melbourne accent. Thinking Eastern Suburbs, no? (Altona- Ballarat girl me)

Wendy B: And I'll be you have a fauxny tail stash to achieve this one too.
Amy G: Yes, buying rats these days is a difficult task. I have a few, but they are only very small little pieces for buns and rolls. Nothing quite so extreme as this. Sounds like you could have had lots of dressing up fun as a child.
Hammie: Elvira is exactly what i thought too.
Ivyology: My mother used to wear her hair like that every day when she was 19. She had very long back Cleopatra like hair. I must see if I can find some pics of her do.
Robo: Excellent, can we see photos?
Penny: Thanks, it was a bit tricky, but so fun.
Mrs Munster: Actually not heavy at all, but it does feel a little odd. When all the pins are secure though, it feels quite good. And I imagine it would give a bit of added warmth in winter too. :)
Jennifer: Ha haha. Thank you. I'm no good at trying to do an American accent, except Southern. Perhaps there are more similarities there.
Hammie: Thank you. And yes, you hit the nail on the head.

SKM, next time I do the style, I'll take photos. I'm also going to attempt a Veronica Lake-esque style...if my part cooperates!

Thanks for all the tips and tricks :)
