Happy Buck's Night Mr. Bachelor

Outfit details: Top and skirt - by Adeline Street from Faster Pussycat, Jacket - Free Fusion, Shoes - Urban Originals.
Lipstick - Russian Red by MAC

Here it is, the Bachelor Party outfit. For those of you that tuned in the other day, you'll know that my opportunities to get this outfit together were limited. Actually I had 45 minutes, with baby in tow, to shop for last night. So to get a really clear idea of the look I wanted to achieve, I put together three ideal looks. Perhaps if I'd gotten my act together weeks ago, I could have replicated one of these beauties. As it is, I used these sets as inspiration and worked elements from each to create this look. Can you see them?

I chose a pencil skirt with great lace up rear detailing( seen below), matching corset style top, patent platform stilettos to echo the colours in the skirt and top. I was fortunate to already have in my wardrobe this cropped blue jacket that tied the shoes into the whole thing, rather than leaving them sitting out there on their own. I skipped the stockings all together, as their was no room for any extra frippery under this skin tight skirt, and I wanted to keep a smooth line. I kept the hair much simpler, knowing that with such a structured outfit, I needed to soften the hair. So I put the whole lot in hot rollers for ten minutes and this was the result.

I cut back on the accessories, as with such a tight print ( and VERY tight fit), I didn't want to overload on extraneous detail and confuse the issue. So other than the crystal crown brooch on the jacket, all I carried was this black box style, faux crocodile handbag. A girl needs supplies for such a big evening and a bag such as this holds all my secrets along with being large enough (but not sloppy) to carry the jacket.

Congratulations Mr Bachelor!

This look is really fantastic on you - I love that you've managed to make something so tight actually look very sweet with the addition of the bright blue shoes and cropped jacket. Totally stunning :)

What a great, great look! It would be very easy for most people to veer off into "trashy" with that theme, but you (of course) made it classy and sophisticated. Bravo!

Great look. Hope you had a great time?
Once again you have revived an item in my wardrobe; I have that little jacket in pink. Gonna pull together a tight skirt look for it pronto. (and all my skirts are tight, I am way more J-lo than Kiera in that dept')
xx

Yowza lady, you look stunning!! (I knew you would :P ) Blue is my fave color, and black & blue my absolute favorite color combo, and you rock it with style. Those shoes are amazing. I have never owned a pair of blue shoes and oh how I want a pair! Your hair looks gorgeous. The whole outfit is perfect. And I love that 2nd photo of you- it's pure pinup heaven :D

You did well! I love the corset detailing on the skirt (and I loves me some tartan) and that bag is FABULOUS!! How long till the wedding?, you'd better start planning your outfit.

Thanks so much everyone. It can be difficult to toe the line between trashy and glamourous with this kind of look. I think it was the use of blue, rather than black or red, that made it work.

Hammie: Excellent! I hope we get to see that results.
Shady: Check out the urban originals site for those shoes. They have a great range and they cost next to nothing!
Wendy B: Hot rollers are such an underutilized tool in this age of the straightener. And they are so much faster to achieve a 'wow' do too.
Cybill: I'm a tartan lover too. My bedroom is currently undergoing a makeover with gratuitous use of tartan. The wedding is in a month, so this time I'll start planning early.

You should change your blog name to "super-hot-amazing-stunning-kawaii-mama"!!!
Even though that outfit is superhot-hot you still look stylish!

Awesome outfit. You look very sexy!

Kristie: Checking out your site now.
LM: I used to hate how white my skin was, but now I look on it as a blessing. With skin that white I stay out of the sun, hence, I don't get all those nasty wrinkles!
Penny: I never used to either. It has become a sudden and lovely obsession.
Freelancer: Imagine trying to write that all the time! ;P You are such a doll.
Porcelain Blonde: Thank you. The bag is just fabulous, and they are actually real bamboo handles, which oddly seem hard to find.

Everyone has more than commented on the outfit, so I'll just say that I agree...
More so though. THAT BAG!!! I think another trip to Melbourne is in order, just to find one for myself...

That's gonna be real tough. x Hope you had a wonderful night.

Yow! Let me be the fiftieth to say you're a knockout! Thanks for including all the accessorization details. It's relieving to know that someone as naturally stylish as you still has to give some careful thought to the details of an outfit.

Danielle: Blue is a recent discovery for me and I'm loving it.
LIBS: If I ever see another I'll let you know. I found it in a little mall in North Sydney.
The Sunday Best: Why thank you Sir. I'm honored by the mention.
Sal: It may seem like falling off a log, but there is quite a bit of science that goes on in my head with each look.
