The Bold and the Beautiful

Outfit Details: Blue silk cocktail dress - Vintage Tina Varigos, Shoes - Valerie Stevens, Necklace - Vintage pearlized glass beads, Earrings - Diamond Studs, Fur - Vintage Mink, Diamonte hair comb, Lipstick - MAC Russian Red.

Now what am I all tizzied up for this time? Well, whilst I look for any excuse to break out the sequins and silk, it isn't something I do every Friday night as a rule. However last night saw the launch of Melbourne's newest modelling agency, The Alternative Modelling Agency. Founded by local gothic glamour queen, Samantha Shields, the agency is set to invigorate the local fashion scene with a new and vibrant style of personality. If you are sick to death (like me) of seeing your models underfed, homogenized and surly looking; you are sure to see more personality on the pages with Samantha's stable of beauties.

Last nights festivities began with Champagne and belly dancing before we moved onto the main event, an eclectic parade showcasing local alternative designers and the agency's new talent. I snuck in a few photos, but as I'm no keen fashion photographer they aren't the best, but I did want to share a little of the evening with you. You can read more about Samantha and the agency here in the Age.

After all that eye candy, those delicious cocktails and divine personalities, it was pumpkin time for me. Yes I was tempted to stay and party the night away, but with another round of cocktails scheduled with some delightful ladies for today, I chose to get my beauty sleep and do it all again. And that my friends, will be a story for tomorrow.

You look magnificent - that necklace with that dress looks amazing! Especially with your red lips to top it off!

And that red dress on the model - PER.FEC.TION. I want it. I need it. I want to buy it and hoarde it away until my wedding day and I don't even care that it would look like one giant scarlet letter. Or, alternatively, I want to wear it every single day of my life. I can't decide which scenario would be a better tribute.

Your blue dress is AMAZING, and you look so fabulous in it. I hope you are on the agencies books as a stylist as well as a model.

Bravo, I am so sick of looking at underage skellingtons modelling labels they could never afford.
And you look fab in that dress. Tell me, did Tina Varigos ever do the dresses on Sale of the Century?

Fashion Hayley: Oh cool. She'll wonder how you found out!
Kitty Meow: Yes I saw that poster, and his shoot with Miss T is beautiful.
Floraposte: And they are already hitting the pages. Have you seen the latest Nando's campaign here?
K.Line: Thank you, I thought I'd try something different, and I was taking outfit shots in the middle of the night after the party, so my usual outside space wasn't going to work.
Nadine: Thank you so much!
Kelly: I love that necklace, I even have it's partner in purple tones. I found them both in a jewelry box in an antique store years ago. The red dress is divine I agree. And you should certainly have one. I got married in red and I can recommend it for drama. If you'd like the detials of the dress and the designer - email me and I'll put you in contact.
Cybill: Now there's a thought, if only I had time to add stylist to the list of things I do in my days.
Violetville: It really is divine. It has a stunning matching jacket, but I have to have it altered as it is too big on me. So the fur has to do for now.

It sounds as if u have a wonderful time there, all sunny and warm. As I write this the wretched cold november rain is beating on my studio window. I do like ur dressing table. It is so important to have. I need to do a post about my dressing table! Maybe we all should! It does play a big role in our lives, does it not? think of the conversations had there and what is has seen ?!

aw, you are terribly sweet. Unfortunately I don't think my bank balance would be too happy if I were to buy such a pretty dress...it'd be best if I don't even contact you so I don't even have the temptation there! I'll have to just admire it from afar.
