A Vintage Afternoon Tea

A little peak at the goodies from my afternoon tea with friends on Saturday. All of my crockery and linen are vintage, gathered from various op shopping expeditions; that is except for these wonderful glasses. I found these the other day at Freedom of all places, and loved their retro styling.

It was far too hot to bake, but we did have cucumber finger sandwiches, and this colourful confection of cookies. Add a little tea, conversation with friends and it was the perfect way to spend an afternoon. Delightful.

Just gorgeous! Its like a diy high tea, but without pretending to be all prim and proper. The table looks beautiful.

Oooh am I dying for an afternoon tea now! I am snowed in and have barely enough milk for tea and no cakes at all, boo hoo!

This looks so lovely. We are going to a vintage tea this week, but at our local tea shop. There will be tea and cakes etc and we will all be in our usual vintage hats gloves etc, however, we have cool weather here, it sounds as if you are having a heat wave?
