Daily Outfit

Outfit details: Cashmere top - Ann Taylor, Ruched skirt - China town, no label, Metallic leggings - Target, Boots - Joanne Mercier, Belt - Ebay, Earrings - Etsy Beach Mama, Flowers - bucking the winter trend and making an appearance in my front yard.

No tracksuits here today, (not that that will surprise you). This is just a hanging out at home, doing ironing kind of day. Although the boots look like they may not be the best in terms of comfort, they are surprisingly so. I think perhaps because they are well engineered, in a super soft leather and not actually that high. The thinness of the heel makes them look higher than they really are. I spent a little time messing around with my hair today, because as soon as I wash it, it is rather fluffy and I didn't have much time to deal with that in my usual manner. In my experimenting, I came up with a new way to roll my hair into this shape, and it took all of 1 minute! (Tutorial will be forthcoming)

So we have; Shower - 4 minutes ( a luxury in our water restrictions), Outfit - 3 minutes, Makeup - 5 minutes, Hair - 3 minutes ( from just dry), which takes us to a grand total of 15 minutes to get ready to face the day. If you are a busy mum like me you may not have more time than that, but even Play School runs for 20 minutes.

Amazing. Love the detail of the belt, and the earrings are great.

I love the whole thing!! And I'll second about boots. I have a lovely pair of Brazilian equestrian style boots that are more comfortable than any pair of flip-flops, and they look fantastic with skirts, jeans, or almost anything. Strangers compliment me on them.

And thanks for the time breakdown on getting ready. It's true, it doesn't take any longer to look good than it does to zip up the tracksuit, and you'll feel better about your day every time you pass a mirror!

I love the double-dose of surprise: the earrings, and the white lace kick-pleat at the back of your skirt. Quirky and beautiful, as always.

The seeker: I really like the belt too. I got it as a bonus when I bought a vintage dress on ebay.
Susie: It is such a lovely surprise I think.
Amy G: You're absolutely correct. Passing a mirror and catching a glimpse of yourself looking below par is not a pleasant experience.
Lil Midget: Don't you have water restrictions in New Castle?
Wendy B, Nadine and Kristen: Thank you.
Fash: Oh I'll have to check it out. I love macabre and momento mori.
Enc: Thank you. I like all my outfits to have unexpected elements.
Lady Smaggle: It is great, but I have to be careful not to catch those stilettos in the crochet. I have taken a spill of two before.
Shady: Thank you, and I love your new avatar - much more cheery. :)

The shoes are HAWT! And I never would've thought of the turquoise/red/black colour combination, but it looks fabulous. And you do need to post hair tutorials because the hair rolls are too cool, and I can never really figure them out. Thanks!

Robo: Thank you. I know I keep promising a hair tutorial but I am getting there. :)

Simple, elegant but most importantly quick glamour SKM- thats why I love reading this blog. You've inspired me, I think people think that if you manage to get your nails, hair and makeup done on a daily basis you are not only high maintenance but that it just couldn't happen in 15 mins. I might just have to do my own version of a post like this as well!
Full credits to you of course!

LM: I think that celebrities and their grooming habit publicity have fueled peoples thoughts that it takes an army. I'll be interested to hear your routine and I'm so pleased to have inspired.
