According to the big wig colour predictors, 2009 has been declared the year of Mimosa. Officially it is PANTONE 14-0848 Mimosa. And just what the hell is Mimosa other than a tasty beverage? Well for those of you here in Australia, you should be very familiar with this little gem as it is in fact a part of our national emblem. Those of us on a first name basis with this one know it as Golden Wattle. The flower that children all over the country take to their teachers, causing their hay fever to flare irreparably for the day, as it sheds its pollen like talcum powder in sheets on your clothes.
Allegedly this sunshine filled hue will be the tonic for our economic blues and cause us to be filled with imaginative and innovative impulses. Well, in that spirit I've applied mine for you and come up with some great ways to add some sartorial sunshine to your days.
So if you are feeling a bit over the grey skies of a northern winter, or looking to encourage a little more sunshine south of the boarder, then these could be just the trick. But proceed with caution (lol), an over consumption of Mimosa (both the beverage and the colour), is bound to make you a tad queasy.

Both of these outfits are amazing!!! I am going to try to recreate them from bits and pieces in my wardrobe I love them so much. I don't wear much yellow (even though I love it), but this has inspired me to embrace Mimosa! You've done it again SKM :).
I want the red shoes, (they're still Mimosa-ish) but I NEED everything in the 'Sunshine in your life' picture. Can one really get a yellow i-phone?!
Happy New Year SKM - I know I'm so late I might as well be wishing you Happy Easter :)
Hmmm...not the easiest of colours to wear so maybe it will be Mimosa coloured socks for me.
I was inspired to wear mimosa by the girls on flickr last winter – although back then I called it marigold. It doesn't really suit me, but I have some socks, a scarf, and a blouse in it... I quite like it!
I love yellow and have absolutely nothing in the color. I really think the pairing of red is complimentary and something I never thought of.
Last year,I noticed it paired with gray and thought it softened it in such a pretty way.
I could use a mimosa right now. Unfortunately, my company frowns on drinking in the office. Go figure.
Those colors are absolutely delicious! Making me want a big glass of lemonade right now for sure.
Erin: I'd love to see what you come up with.
Cybill: there are so many accessories for i-phones it is mind boggling. And I'm lusting after those red shoes too.
Imelda: Welcome back! How about Mimosa accessories: a tasty satchel, moleskin or one of those fancy eco flasks?
Esme: I'll have to search your archives for a looky lou at how you did it.
Ruby Redlocks: Yes, yellow and grey is rather relaxing and serene. I think I personally just love the punch of red, but keeping it just right so we don't come off looking like Ronald Mcdonald!
Kasmira: Sounds like it is time for a new employer then!
Emer: Yum!
I definitely could use more sunshine here.
I just love the Sun burst.. nice yellows and reds...
yellow stuff looks nice. Cheered up nicely. :)
