Daily Outfit - Garden Style

Outfit details: Thrifted jacket, early 1970's vintage. Vintage gloves - from Nana, Wide leg pants - Made by me (Pattern Kwik Sew 2990), Wedge shoes - Wittner, Parisole - China Town, Earrings - Vintage clip ons, Lipstick note - Boots No.7 - Moulin Rogue.

It was a such a beautiful day today, that is was perfect for playing photographer with the girls in the garden. There was lots of dressing up, hunting for fairies, playing skittles and then a little quiet reading. I'm still trying to perfect this hair style, but I'm finding it difficult to roll so much hair up effectively. It works well for a few hours, but then the weight of it with all the pins gives me a bit of a headache. So that one is still in practice mode till it can make its way to the Hair Tutorial section. I found this sweet jacket yesterday at the op shop for $4, and loved its styling and shape. I'm not entirely sure of it's vintage, but the style and font on the label indicates it would be roughly late 1960's to early 70's.

I sent Miss Four into the op shop with some money in her hand bag and it kept her both occupied and thrilled to be doing her own shopping. Is it cheating to turn shopping into a game? But think about it, for $10 I can entertain both of us for a good hour and still come home with a bag full of lovely things. Much better than a couple of turns on a grocery store ride.

Very pretty! I have a parasol but I haven't had the guts yet to bring it out in public.

Your girls are certain to grow up to be some very stylish ladies with a momma like you!

I totally adore your hair and the whole look - so elegant!

Stunning outfit and hair! I do mine like that on occasion, though I have to use a rat as I don't have enough for a nice fat roll! Oh I am so jealous of your spring/summer - it really feels like autumn here today.

Very elegant! Have you put a reddish colour through your hair? Great style, can't wait for the tutorial. I'm getting great mileage out of the faux victory rolls - though one side invariable turns out way better than the other at the moment.

Gloves and a parasol! You're a gal after my heart :)
And your garden looks so big and divine, your babies are very lucky to have that to play in :)

My gosh, I bet you're getting so excited for your trip! I'm really looking forward to catching up with you for tea on your return xxx

Casey: Thank you, I do love the way the hair looks, but those pins are a bit pokey. :)
Kelly: All it takes it for one person to be a little brave and a new trends begins. Give it a go. what do you have to lose but sun induced wrinkles?
Nadine: Thank you.
Fleur: I still have to use a rat to have something to roll around, perhaps it is because I have so much hair that it has trouble staying up like this.
Floraposte: No, no new colour, I think its just the colour from the parasol throwing onto the hair. And isn't that the way with the hair, it takes a while for both hands to catch up sometimes.
Audi: Thank you, they are my favorite pair.
Donell: Thank you, I like to keep the makeup simple to make room for the more 'done' hair.
Porcelain blonde: We porcelain skinned gals need to look after ourselves. I must admit, I do get some very strange looks at the playground while toting my little pink umbrella for said purpose.

I wish you were at a playground near me!

Completely devoid of style (excepting me of course! :) )

I just give an extra sunny smile to anyone who looks at me quizically...

Wendy B: Thank you.
Alison: I had a funny moment at the playground too. Miss four got herself lost and went and found a lady to help her. When the woman came and got me she said," your daughter described you to me. When I asked her what you looked like, she looked around and said, Oh my mum's the pretty one!" I was very flattered and quite amused too.
Little Rascal: Thank you. Hope you enjoyed a wonderful time in Spain. I'll have to check your blog for updates now.
Obsession of the week: It has been so popular. I get loads of inquiries every time I wear these pants. They are Kwik Sew 2990. I've made them up about 5 different ways and highly recommend that pattern.
Penny: Thank you. AS soon as I can master this do, I'll organise a tutorial.
